This particular project aims to redesign the existing 57000 square meters Mayliewan Park locates in Edmonton,AB into a constructed wetland. Final design mimics a natural environment as habitat for plants and wildlife; besides, this pond will attract many people because of its natural beauty.

East View towards the Pond

Proposed pond with the total area of 36000 square meters has irregular shorelines to enhance physical habitat and biodiversity. Walkways and 15-meter long timber boardwalk on top of the pond designed to provide easy accesses and viewing point for visitors. Another design feature is a bioswale to transfer the parking lot runoff into the pond. In this project, integrating existing site features and topography into the design considered as a challenge.
